China’s Predicted Ascent: Australians Eye New Global Power Balance

A new poll reveals a clear sentiment among Australians: they are predicting China’s ascent to global power, suggesting a new global power balance is on the horizon. This comes as trust in the United States reaches a new low.
Just over one in three Australians (36%) now trust the US to act responsibly on the world stage, a substantial 20-point decrease from 2024 and the lowest proportion recorded since polling began in 2005.
