Jasmine Crockett Offers to Partner With Marjorie Taylor Greene on Safety Legislation

Date:

Texas Representative Jasmine Crockett, who previously went viral for a heated exchange with Marjorie Taylor Greene, is now extending an unexpected offer of collaboration. Following Greene’s announcement that she will leave Congress next year amid growing threats, Crockett publicly expressed her willingness to work together on legislation aimed at improving safety for lawmakers.
Crockett said her office has already reached out to Greene to begin drafting a proposal, emphasizing that threats against elected officials have become a serious and shared concern. She noted that Greene’s situation highlights the risks faced by members of Congress, especially during politically charged moments.
The offer comes more than a year after the two clashed during a House committee hearing, where personal insults were exchanged and later went viral. Despite their public feud, Crockett believes that partnering on a bipartisan safety measure could demonstrate unity and show that political rivals can find common ground when necessary.
Greene’s upcoming departure follows internal clashes within her party and growing criticism from former allies. As tensions continue to rise across the political landscape, Crockett says she hopes their joint effort—if accepted—can send a message that cooperation is still possible in Congress.
